Mumbai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia poses for a picture during the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards 2025 in Mumbai, Sunday, September 07, 2025. (Photo: IANS) Mumbai, September 13 (IANS) Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who is receiving positive response to her recently released streaming show ‘Do You Wanna Partner’, has spoken about the first-mover advantage with the series, and how it had the “best of both worlds”. The actress spoke with IANS in the Khar West area of Mumbai during the promotional campaign of the show, and shared how having two directors on board, added up to the larger narrative. She told IANS, “We had the best of both worlds with Archit Kumar and Collin D’Cunha. Archit had a firm grip on emotional graph and Colin was just somebody who held fort whenever it came to anything extremely comic. They both are two very different directors but thanks to Prime Video and Dharmatic, I think we were able to pull off a very ambitious schedule and we were able to get ready very quickly but one interesting thing is that we shot the show in April last year. But in so much time, still no one has picked up this type of subject”. She further mentioned, “Considering, in today's time, there's a lot of talk about entrepreneurship, startups, there's a lot of knowledge about it, there's a lot of information but no one has picked up this type of story yet. So, we're hoping that we kind of have that first mover advantage in this space”. Earlier, Tamannaah had called her character in the show a ‘hustler’, who is impulsive and passion-driven. She said that her character in the show is more sort of voice of reason and she creates that sense of balance in her madness. Helmed by Collin D'Cunha and Archit Kumar, the series also stars Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi, Sufi Motiwala, and Rannvijay Singha in key roles.‘Do You Wanna Partner’ is available to stream on Prime Video. IANS (Photo: Instagram) Mumbai, (IANS) Actress Priya Bapat, who leads the investigation in the recently released psychological-horror streaming series ‘Andhera’, has said that working on OTT has been a very rewarding experience for her. The actress spoke with IANS during the promotional run of the show, and shared that while she has been working in the Hindi and Marathi cinema for over 20 years, it’s the OTT, which has given her the opportunity to try meatier parts. She told IANS, “I feel that I think I have got more meaty parts and more challenging roles in the space of OTT now even from the time I started be it ‘City of Dreams’ or ‘Andhera’, every show that I have done so far has given me a lot more. Everything I did and learnt in my Marathi industry and from the cinema that I did, I think more than the box-office, OTT really has been challenging, experimenting and it's a great space to be”. The actress also called the experience of working in OTT, a liberating experience as makers on OTT trust her with parts which are well-fleshed out. She further mentioned, “It is liberating, and also for an actor like me it's a great time because people are trusting you with different parts, more women characters are being written in a good way in a good space”. ‘Andhera’, which is set in Mumbai, follows Inspector Kalpana Kadam and Jay, a medical student, who become entangled in a missing-person case that unearths a sinister presence beneath the city. The series explores the fictional space of “What if darkness comes to life?”. Saba Azad opens up on nuances of Kashmiri accent in her new film (2025-09-02T13:16:00+05:30)
|
Mumbai, Sep 02 20925 (IANS) Actress Saba Azad, who can be seen in the recently released streaming film ‘Song of Paradise’, has shared her experience of trying the Kashmiri accent in the film. ‘Songs of Paradise’ is inspired by the life of Padma Shri awardee, Raj Begum. The lead character is portrayed by Saba Azad and Soni Razdan across two time periods. The film offers a peek into the life of the Padma Shri awardee. Saba Azad spoke with IANS during the promotional run of the film, and said that she was privy to the Kashmiri accent but the film demanded nuance of a certain degree from her when it came to the phonetics. Saba Azad is also a voice artiste, and was acquainted with the accent from some other part of Kashmir. However, the role demanded the accent from Srinagar. The actress shared that cracking the diction of the character was not exactly a cakewalk for her. She told IANS, “It wasn’t a cakewalk, there was definitely a challenge. There's a tendency to go a little overboard always because everybody has kind of heard the accent. We're Indians, we've got so many different languages and you hear all accents all the time. We live in a metropolis, we come across people all the time, someone is from West Bengal, someone is from Punjab, someone is from Kashmir, so you're hearing all sorts of accents at all times. So all of us have it in our heads somewhere in our subconscious”. She further mentioned, “But I think the challenge is really to not go overboard, which is where Danish (the director) comes in, he was really reining me in at all times because I think I was more familiar with another region of a Kashmiri accent. He was like, ‘You need to come back to this region’”. “So it was a very enjoyable experience for me, I really, really enjoyed sinking my teeth into it and honestly like more work like this to all actors”, she added.Presented by Excel Entertainment and produced by Apple Tree Pictures Production and Renzu Films Production, ‘Songs of Paradise’ is available to stream on Prime Video. Hollywood actors celebrate as Wrexham move closer to promotion (2024-03-20T14:19:00+05:30)
![]() Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney celebrated in the stands as Wrexham moved closer to promotion from the National League. Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney celebrated in the stands as Wrexham moved closer to promotion from the National League in dramatic fashion on Saturday. The Welsh club have shot to international fame through the reality television series 'Welcome to Wrexham', which charts the fortunes of the team since their 2020 sale to Reynolds and McElhenney. Wrexham have played in the fifth-tier National League for the last 15 years, but, revitalised by their celebrity owners, they are on the verge of a return to the professional ranks in League Two. Reynolds and McElhenney were in attendance to witness a potentially decisive 3-2 win over promotion rivals Notts County at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday. And fittingly there was a plot twist ripped straight from a feelgood Hollywood movie as former England goalkeeper Ben Foster saved a stoppage-time penalty to preserve Wrexham's vital victory. After receiving the freedom of the borough at a civic ceremony earlier in the day, Reynolds and McElhenney watched John Bostock's stunning free-kick put Notts County ahead late in the first half. Paul Mullin and Jacob Mendy struck to give Wrexham a 2-1 lead before Kyle Cameron equalised 15 minutes from time. But Elliot Lee quickly restored Wrexham's advantage and the 40-year-old Foster, who came out of retirement last month after regular 'keeper Rob Lainton was injured, saved Cedwyn Scott's last-gasp penalty to spark wild celebrations from the club's famous owners. Wrexham sit top of the table, three points clear of second-placed County with a game in hand, putting them in pole position to secure the league's only automatic promotion place. In a bid to keep his jubilant players focused, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson played down their strong position in the promotion race. "Of course it's a step in the right direction but there's a lot of work to be done," said Parkinson, whose side have four games remaining. "The title race is not over until it's mathematically ours. We've got work to be done, we've got to keep going. "It was a big moment for Fozzy (Foster). I brought him in for those moments and one's happened today."But we've got to keep our feet firmly on the ground because we've achieved nothing yet."Hollywood actors celebrate as Wrexham move closer to promotion |
Netflix reopens Hollywood's 'Egyptian' movie palace (2023-11-09T12:13:00+05:30)
LOS ANGELES - The Egyptian Theatre, which hosted Hollywood's first-ever red carpet premiere in its faux hieroglyph-adorned courtyard more than a century ago, reopens this week under the new ownership of Netflix. Steeped in silver screen lore, the venerable Los Angeles movie palace may seem an unlikely investment for a streaming giant that has made a fortune convincing viewers to watch films on their TVs, laptops and even phones. But for Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, the chance to save a crumbling Tinseltown institution -- and showcase his company's rapid ascent from tech disruptor to a key player at the very heart of the entertainment industry -- was a no-brainer. "Hollywood is all about symbols," he told AFP. "The Hollywood Sign and this theater are probably the two most iconic symbols of Hollywood... this one, unfortunately, was falling down." The theater first opened its doors in October 1922, with the world premiere of Douglas Fairbanks' "Robin Hood." Previously, Los Angeles' burgeoning entertainment industry had been focused on the downtown area, a few miles away. Organizers installed dazzling lights to lure a crowd, and rolled a red carpet across the theater's courtyard for VIP guests including Charlie Chaplin. That innovation, intended to emulate the etiquette of European royalty, would set the model for showbiz premieres for a century to come. Over the following decades, the Egyptian Theatre fell on harder times, and it suffered major damage in Los Angeles' 1994 earthquake. It was taken over by the nonprofit American Cinematheque, which repaired the building, but had difficulties funding its upkeep -- until Netflix came along. The deep-pocketed streamer agreed to bankroll work to renovate the theater once again. It has not ![]() disclosed the cost, but estimates put it around $70 million. "We, as an aptly named nonprofit, were struggling," said Rick Nicita, chairman of the American Cinematheque. "They came in and just formed a terrific partnership with us. They understood what we were trying to do." Under the deal, Netflix will host its own screenings during the week, starting with David Fincher's "The Killer" this Thursday, while the American Cinematheque will showcase classics such as "Lawrence of Arabia" at the weekends. "We rent movie theaters all the time, in New York and LA, to do our premieres and our events," said Sarandos. "So the idea that we can put that effort into something that results in the preservation of something great? It just felt like a win-win." - 'Next 100 years' - With its sand-colored walls and columns, colorful hieroglyphs and a giant, metallic scarab beetle hanging above the stage, the theater was originally designed to cash in on the 1920s mania for all things Ancient Egyptian. Ushers at the ![]() original "RobinHood" premiere were dressed in Egyptian costumes. In a stroke of marketing fate, Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered just two weeks later. While undergoing the theater's latest restoration, Netflix redesigned the building and courtyard to closely mirror its 1922 specifications, albeit with state-of-the-art audio and visual installations. The move is the latest statement of intent from a company that has invested heavily in recent years to lure the silver screen's top directors and stars to its films, and consolidate its position as a company at the center of the Hollywood ecosystem, with respect for its traditions. The streamer also took over New York's historic Paris Theater a few years ago. "We've been making original movies for under seven years... we haven't contributed much to the whole overall 100 years [of Hollywood history]," said Sarandos. "But this is like a down-payment on the next 100 years." Of course, the prospect of Netflix dominating the film industry for a century ![]() ahead is likely to trouble some theater owners. While rivals such as Apple have recently put movies like "Killers of the Flower Moon" on big screens for extended runs before streaming, Netflix has irked movie theater bosses by refusing to do the same. But Sarandos rejects "all this talk about whether or not streaming has been good or bad for the entertainment industry," pointing to the reopening of the Egyptian. "In so many ways, streaming has saved the entertainment industry. And this is a symbol of that, too."amz/caw. Netflix reopens Hollywood's 'Egyptian' movie palace |

The project is good with location and connectivity favoring it and it'll be an area to lookout in the future. The rates in this prelaunch is set amidst the recessionary pressures in indian real estate that is very good for long term investors. Lodha The Rise Palava also has options of 2 and 3 bhk available with it. 2 bhk starts from 50 lacs onwards. The Prices around the location of Palava The City are hovering between 5000 to 7000 per square feet which is for ready to move in residential project minus the amenities in proportion to Lodha The Rise. If the rate of this project opens between 4000 to 5000 price band, the project must be very reasonably priced and this prelaunch opportunity must be grabbed by end users and long term investors. With Rupee performing weak against international currencies like against dollar, rupee is floating at 63.20 now and recessionary pressures has corrected indian real estate market prices, "Lodha The Rise" is set to open at a rate that will be in lower limits of prices. The prices in this project will be attractive for end users and investors both. With all these factors in mind "Lodha The Rise" must be a good bet for future capital appreciation.Source: mumbai-property, over-blog.com/, kiran-kaur, Images: mumbai-property-exchange, lodhatherise, palava-by-lodha-casa, poojakare, propimages-apartments, palava, property-wala, casa-rio-gold, lodhathe-rise, lodha-the-rise, casa-rio-dombivali......................
